Securities Commission of The Bahamas

The Bahamas Securities Commission ( SCB ), was established in 1995 and is responsible for regulating and overseeing the financial services industry in the Bahamas. Its goal is to safeguard investors, build institutional and public trust in the integrity of these markets, and efficiently oversee and regulate the operations of mutual funds, securities, and capital markets.

In order to safeguard investors, uphold a fair, efficient, and transparent market, and lower systemic risk, SCB engages in market monitoring, regulatory supervision, securities law enforcement, and its investor education programmes. It now has 72 full-time workers working at its main office, which is located in the Nassau region of The Bahamas (as of December 2018).
